andy kleiman

Andy Kleiman's comedy can be described in three words: confidently awkward stand-up (four words if you count stand-up as two words, he doesn't). He first did stand-up in high school when his tennis team was so bad, he had no choice but to make fun of them during morning announcements. Are you supposed to have sympathy that his school had a tennis team? No. But it was an all boys prep school that stunted his social growth and made him constantly crave attention which forced him into a life of comedy. That's kinda sad, right?

Since then, he has been touring the east coast with his confidently awkward comedy, primarily in New York at prestigious clubs including Comix, Stand-Up NY, Comic Strip and many alternative venues. His stand-up is a mixture of observations, rants and introspections ranging from doubting if the girl he just talked to actually exists to his adventures in Spanish Harlem to his six month battle with cancer (he won).

He was featured on the season three finale of Comedy Central's "Tosh.0" and Spike TV's "Phowned".  He has also written and performed sketch comedy at the Upright Citizen Brigade Theatre, Peoples Improv Theater and the Magnet Theater and his online sketches have been featured on IMDB.com. He wrote, produced and starred in the touring play, "The Penis Soliliquies" and short film, Best Worst Date, which is currently being submitted to film festivals.

His writings have appeared in the National Lampoon book "Not Fit For Print" as well as their Splog (sports blog), SuperAwesomeWow.com and ThePhatPhree.com.  You'll laugh with him, you'll laugh at him, as long as it's because of him, he's cool with it.
